It was nothing like the child sex abuse or banking royal commissions.
No interrogations, no “gotcha” moments and only one awkward exchange.
Through 10,000 submissions and 19 days of evidence from 96 witnesses, its most compelling moments were honest, personal, and painful stories.
On day one, former North Melbourne premiership player Wayne Schwass stared at a picture of himself, triumphant on the MCG dais, and reflected: “At that particular moment, I wanted to end my life.”
